Community is an essential. We have lost a lot of community support because of the dispersal of families. zoom an email are not quite enough to help with the need for a hug sometime or seeing a response in someone's eyes or taking a walk to share a deep conversation
agree, Francine -- one of the "things I came here for" is to invite and build community thru connections - (even tho I was taught in my youth to let someone else do it, now I'm the elder woman someONE!) picking up the phone, setting a date, going for a walk planned on 2 or more calendars together...putting myself where there are others who love to be outside in Nature sometimes in a pair, or a group...it's my "life work" these days of living in the Slow Lane, I'm a lover, a seeker and a gatherer...one day at a time,
Thanks francine and Diana, thanks for kicking off the Chat function the way I dreamed it could go. I'm sharing both your comments in notes and will reference this thread in my first week of the Spiritual Aging Study Guide post, going live Monday, June 3. And of course, your comments are wise, affirming an d helpful.
