This was so helpful thank you, I’ve been in the dumps trying to find the other half of my glass. It seemed to be emptying faster than I could fill it up. I think I need some morning inspirational mantras (I’m not a morning person). Or sun salutations to get me over all the changes late 60’s and hopefully plenty more years bring. I wonder how you conjure your great attitude to start your day off with such gusto?

It was a good day! Not every day has this much gusto in it. However, I try not to hold over the bad days so that each day has a 50-50 chance of being fun!

As always, an inspiration. Reminds me of the Brian Andras (?) art we have on our gorgeous new office wall: something like "I weep several times a day not because I'm sad, but because the world is so beautiful and life is so short." Anyway, I'm bogged down with necessary elder-paperwork and those endless medical appointments, but yearn to wander as you describe. And I will.

I am so happy I’ve stumbled upon your insightful posts and advice. I retired two years ago and have been floundering, trying to figure out how to navigate this new cycle of my life. As a spiritual empath that is highly sensitive, retirement has brought both joy and fear. It is always helpful to know you aren’t alone and learn about others experiences. Thank you and please continue sharing.

I agree with you Carol. Life can be so much fun when we shed the layers that old age has placed upon us. We can accept the usual health issues etc. and still enjoy the parts of life that bring us into hilarious situations. I love your story of the street car ladies. I have been a public transit user for years now and have met some of the most interesting people at the bus stop. Enjoy your time in Toronto. It is a great place to be.
