I am a 67 year old French woman. I also met Reb Salzman at Naropa in Boulder Colorado over 20 years ago and got very inspired by the saging movement. Now that I take full-time care of my 78 years old partner with dementia, I feel very grateful to be connected with this group. It is a real light in the tunnel. I had a quite unusual life made of travels, raising children, creating safe places for drug users and Hiv patients, practicing Zen Buddhism and returning to my country to live in the Cevennes and finally enjoying really living in nature. I'm 77, live in St. Louis with my beloved Jim husband of 56 years, who's mind and capacities are being stolen by Alzheimers. We moved to a CCRC (continual care retirement community) a year ago because my background is in public health, geriatrics (before I was one!) and know that it's darn likely I won't be able to always meet his needs. we have family and friends who are good resources. I make time as a recovering catholic to enjoy daily walking, silence, spirituality of ethical society, and a buddhist sangha...exploring this final stage of life hereabouts...good to be with ya'll...
